As Mancini was a jazz lover both he and I share that. His music from back in the 60s was more famous for musical / movie scores. But, he did TV show music as Peter Gun and Mr Lucky. This treatment - Mr Lucky goes latin was among his best stuff. Anytime I see his work in vinyl I make it a point to pick it up/5(18).

The ramba, the samba, the cha-cha-cha, the mambo, the conga and tango were all favorable Latin dances and back in late 50's and early 60's teenagers were dancing to a lot of different types of music. It makes only sense that Mancini would create a Latin version of Mr. Lucky and the one-eyed-cat.5/5(2).

Mancini recasts some of the numbers he wrote for the popular CBS TV series Mr. Lucky in a Latin light vein. This release also features two of his best cuts in a circus-minded mix of harpsichord and trombone called "Rain Drops in Rio" and the noirish ballad "Blue Mantilla"; once again, Mancini strikes a fine balance between jazz atmospherics and lounge flourishes.6/
